Daisy qualifies for RDA National Dressage Championships

Daisy Gregory, a pupil at Highgate Hill House School in Whitstone, near Holsworthy, has recently qualified for the RDA National Dressage Championships which will be held at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire, 13th to 15th July.

The RDA National Championships is the RDA’s flagship event, which brings together hundreds of competitors from across the country of all abilities who compete in Carriage Driving, Countryside Challenge, Showjumping, Vaulting and Showing and Dressage.

Having won the regional qualifier, which was held at Lakefield Equestrian Centre in Camelford, Daisy is now excitedly preparing for her next dressage test.

Daisy’s Mum Lynn, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the hard work that Daisy puts into her riding, and of course Troy the cob who Daisy rode on the day, who was an absolute superstar. Daisy adores dressage - as well as riding regularly at Lakefield Equestrian Centre, Daisy rides with the Calvert Trust on Exmoor”.

Head teacher at Highgate Hill House School, Vicky Skelton, said: “Riders from across the country are taking part in this prestigious event, and we are delighted that Daisy is a part of it. It’s a great way for the children to meet new friends, come away with a huge sense of achievement, and if they are very lucky, a rosette!”

School Founder and Director, Sir Peter Birkett, added: “Congratulations Daisy, we wish you the best of luck for the championships and look forward to hearing how you get on in July”.
