Highgate Hill House School passes School Inspection with flying colours

Highgate Hill House School at Whitstone is delighted with its most recent external ISI school Inspection outcomes.

The Regulatory Compliance Inspection is a rigorous process that is not graded – a bit like taking your driving test, it's either a pass or fail. During the inspection the inspectors scrutinised the quality of education provided; spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils; welfare, health and safety of pupils; suitability of staff, supply staff and proprietors; premises of and accommodation at the school; provision of information; manner in which complaints are handled and quality of leadership in and management of the school. The inspection involves the inspectors conducting formal interviews, examining examples of pupils’ work and observing lessons.

The school was found to be compliant in all parts of the Inspection, with all standards being met with no further actions or recommendations.

Dr Julie Smith (Chair of the Board) said: “I would like to thank staff for the immense amount of work that was done in preparing for the inspection. The inspectors are meticulous and look at everything in minute detail. It is good to have everyone’s efforts endorsed in this way”.

The published report commended Highgate Hill House School for its teaching, pupil behaviour management and supporting resources. In addition, the report praised the principles and values of the school, which are “actively promoted facilitating the personal development of pupils as responsible, tolerant, law-abiding citizens”.

Also pinpointed as crucial in the school success was the leadership and management of the school, Governance and leadership demonstrating “good skills and knowledge” and “actively promoting the well-being of pupils”.

School founder, Sir Peter Birkett, said: “I am so very proud of all the pupils in the school and grateful to the staff, parents, carers and other partners of Highgate for their kindness and continued support, all of which led to this successful outcome”.
